Join us on a whisker-waving adventure as we learn “All About Cats”! Students will learn how to decode cat language, discover exactly what catnip is, and become community cat advocates. We’ll get hands-on crafting fishy treats and cozy cat beds to make the felines at JHS feel like royalty. We may even get to meet a new furry friend or two!

Children in grades 2-8 are invited to celebrate “Pawsident’s Day” with the animals at JHS on Monday, February 19, 2024! Campers will learn all about pets while enriching the lives of the homeless dogs and cats at JHS. We’ll craft some paw-triotic treats and toys for the animals and even help a few residents of JHS with their paw-sidential campaign posters.

Children in grades 2-8 are invited to spend Spring Break with the animals at the Jacksonville Humane Society! JHS Spring Break Campers will study animal behavior, spend time interacting with dogs and cats, clicker train pups, help socialize kittens, learn how to help pets at home and in the community, make enrichment items for our four-legged friends, and more.

Aspiring veterinarians and vet techs in grades 4-8 are invited to join us for our Future Veterinarians Camp and find out exactly what it takes to become a vet!
Campers will have the opportunity to tour and observe in the JHS hospital, study animal body language, learn veterinary skills like bandaging, reading X-rays, and identifying parasites through a microscope, participate in a Q&A with a JHS veterinarian, and SO much more! We’ll also get to meet a few JHS pets, of course.

Calling all future chefs and animal enthusiasts! This one’s for you. We’ll learn all about dog and cat nutrition and which foods are safe and unsafe for our furry friends to eat. We’ll use our newfound knowledge to concoct our own dog food recipes and find out which cuisine reigns supreme.

Students will have the chance to unleash their inner “Paw-casso” at this session where creativity meets compassion. We’ll explore various art techniques to create eye-catching masterpieces aimed at helping the pets at JHS find loving homes. We may even get to meet a new furry friend!

Gear up for a STEM adventure at JHS! How can science, technology, engineering, and math help pets in shelters? Let’s find out together! During this session students will have the opportunity to construct innovative cat castles, delve into the fascinating world of microchips and facial recognition software, and more.
